What are Specialized Committees?

Specialized committees blend the structured approach of General Assembly committees with the dynamic elements of Crisis committees. Delegates will tackle current and historical issues in small to mid-sized groups, drafting directives and a cumulative resolution paper at the chair’s discretion. Unlike other committee styles, specialized committees adapt to evolving crisis updates without individual crisis arcs, allowing for a focused yet adaptable discussion format.

Meet your Director!

Hi everyone! I’m Amidala Barta-Zilles, the GA/Specialized Director of SciMUN. I have been a part of the SciMUN team since freshman year, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it, from fast-paced collaboration at conferences to the close-knit community we've built. Outside of MUN, I’m active in Senior Council and the Judicial Board at school, and I enjoy playing piano and volunteering with the elderly. I’m so excited to see you all engage with the amazing committees that we have crafted, and I hope you all have a fantastic experience here at SciMUNC!
